Easy to use Malt Extract Agar Powder (500 grams) for the cultivation of yeasts, molds, and other fungus. It is a great cost saver and a fun activity to pour your own Petri dishes. Rather than spending extra funds for prepared agar plates, you can use our MEA powder to pour over 500 premium quality malt extract agar dishes. Our MEA powder is extremely high quality and made using biotech industry standards. The agar is excellent for mycology experiments, including mushroom cultivation. This is also a great science kit to learn microbiology and fantastic for laboratory and research use. There is enough powder included that you can pour a thick layer of agar perfect for fungal growth! You will see improved performance compared to other products. Contents: 1. 500g of Malt Extract Agar Powder (MEA) with instructions. Here are some basic instructions: 1. Add about 40 grams per liter of water (distilled water is preferred). 2. Bring the mixture to a boil and mix well. 3. (Recommended) Autoclave the mixture for ~30 minutes at 15psi (121°C). 4. Pour enough agar to coat the bottom of each Petri dish. 1 Liter makes about 40 to 50 plates. 5. Let the agar cool down and solidify (this takes about 1-2hrs). 6.
