The 3B Scientific R04 animal cell model is used to study cell form and structure, and provides a microscopic view for display. The model dissembles into two parts for effective demonstration, and has raised-relief organelles that are colored for accurate identification. The R04 is made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) plastic, which is corrosion resistant, lightweight, and has high strength. PVC resists reactions with acids, gasoline, alcohol, and hydrocarbons. Natural sciences models are typically used as educational aids in medical and scientific classrooms and office settings. The R04 depicts the following organelles: nucleus, mitochondrion, smooth endoplasmic reticulum (ER), rough endoplasmic reticulum (ER), basal membrane, collagen fibers, Golgi apparatus, microvilli, and lysosome.
