The beveled edge slides easily under waffles, releasing the cooked edge from the iron. Strips of non-slip silicone provide grip. Soft-touch silicone feels comfortable in hand, and prevents accidental slips while pulling breakfast off of the waffle maker. The soft-touch silicone will not scratch waffle irons. Keep the tongs closed with the handy locking mechanism. Pull the ring to lock the tongs in the closed position, and push it in to release the arms.
