In fact, Villeroy & Boch introduced the Audun collection to commemorate the company's 250th anniversary. Depicting a rural scene in black and white with a touch of yellow, the six fine china 10-1/2-inch dinner plates in this set mix and match with the other similarly colored Audun patterns. The center of each plate displays a detailed pastoral scene of farmers haying based on copper engravings from the turn of the last century. A wide light-gray border holds a flower wreath, while the rim is edged with a classical black-and-white interlock design and a thin band of yellow. Dressy enough to keep only for formal gatherings, Audun Ferme also makes everyday dining a fine occasion.
