About Makko Powder For Making Natural Incense

The Easy Way To Roll Natural Incense This is one of the most popular incense “binders” in the world. Although it’s often called “makko” (which just means “incense powder”), this is more properly called “tabu no ki”. It is the bark from a tree (machilus thunbergii) that grows throughout Asia. It is favored as an incense “binder” (a type of glue that holds incense sticks and cones together) because it not only binds, but it also serves as a “base” for your incense, to help it burn better. One of the best aspects of tabu no ki is that it has virtually no scent of its own, so it won’t harm the scent of the aromatic herbs and resins you add to your incense. With tabu no ki, you can just add a few of your favorite ground herbs, woods, resins, or spice to a small amount of the powder and then blend with water. You can then roll your incense mix into incense sticks, cones, or other shapes. Let your incense dry for a week in a dark, cool place and it will be ready to burn! You can use herbs and spices from your kitchen cabinet or add more exotic aromatics from around the world. You’re only limited by your imagination. The Incense Dragon’s tabu no ki powder is completely natural. It is free of scented materials, DPG, potassium nitrate, and synthetic ingredients. It is ethically and sustainably harvested, then graded and powdered by one of Japan’s most respected incense houses. This is the finest grade of makko/tabu powder available. Each packet contains 4 ounces of finely powdered, top grade tabu no ki powder. Making natural incense has never been easier.
