In times of plague and epidemics, specialist doctors were hired to treat the sick, and many wore distinctive masks filled with aromatic items as protection from disease. This mask had a cone nose shaped like a beak to hold the fragrant substances and straw. Crafted of cold cast polyresin, this incredible mini statue of a plague doctor reading from a tome of pestilent care is hand-painted to show off the amazing sculpted detail. The statue measures 5 inches high, 4.75 inches long, and 3 inches wide. It makes a great gift for friends and family with a macabre sense of humor.
