This is a go-to knife for slicing anything bread, from bagels to sandwich bread to banana bread. It makes slicing homemade bread so much easier, giving thinner, even slices every time. To use this knife it is laid on it's side and with a sawing motion, cuts the bread with the slice coming up between the blade and the wood frame. It allows for cutting slices of arbitrary thickness up to 1 7/8 inch. You will find that you can make much more even slices and this is truly an improvement for your slicing. If you used to start out doing one thickness and the slice would end up with a very skinny bottom or a very fat bottom. Now you can have a beautiful slice from your beautiful homemade breads.
