Hikari, our Single Origin Ceremonial Matcha, offers a smooth and creamy palette with tasting notes of walnut, lemon, and butter. This robustly-bodied matcha is our go-to for creative lattes and smoothies.
Sustainably grown in the hills of Shizuoka, Japan, this unique tea is carefully crafted from hand-picked tea leaves of the green tea shrub. What makes Hikari special is its authentic makeup of 100% Japanese matcha from a single source, in comparison to most matcha products which are often blends from multiple farms or mixed with green tea.
How to Prepare: Sift 0.5 - 1.5 tsp (to strength preference) of matcha into whisking bowl. Add 2 oz of water heated to 180°F. Using bamboo whisk, whisk vigorously in a zig-zag pattern until all clumps dissolve and a nice froth is achieved. For a latte: combine whisked matcha with 6 oz of warm or cold milk For an americano: combine whisked matcha with 6 oz of hot water
Sourced from a multi-generational single estate, Hikari is ground to order from first harvest tea leaves. It is pesticide-free, fertilized with organic materials, and shaded by solar panels. At Matchaful, we believe you should know where your matcha came from and the journey it took to get to you, from farm-to-whisk.
Our matcha is sourced from a sustainable, fourth-generation family farm located in the Shizuoka Prefecture of Japan. The plants are grown without pesticides and fertilized using organic compost from the local community, thereby maintaining a closed-loop system. Our matcha is stone-ground to order in small batches for optimal freshness.
At Matchaful our mission is to make high-quality organic matcha more accessible to our local and global communities, one scoop of Matchaful at a time. Matchaful's single-origin Hikari ceremonial matcha is solar grown from hand-picked tea leaves, grown in the Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan. While many matchas are a blend or mixed with green tea, Matchaful's single-origin matcha is the real deal. The powder is 100% authentic Japanese matcha, ground from first-harvest tea leaves grown on one single farm- because we believe you should know where your matcha's been and the journey it took to get to you from farm to whisk.
