Dowling Magnets DO-731015 Magnets Alnico Horseshoe Features

  • STRONGER THAN A BAR MAGNET: This 2-inch magnet can lift up to 3x more than a bar magnet - up to four pounds! Try it on any ferrous metal and see just how powerful it is.

  • AMAZING MAGNETIC EXPERIMENTS: Explore attraction (note: repulsion can demagnetize horseshoe magnets), compare the strength of different magnets, view invisible magnetic fields using iron filings, and more!

  • GREAT FOR AT-HOME & CLASSROOM SCIENCE: Perfect for at-home explorations, science centers, after school science clubs, and more!

  • INCLUDES PROTECTIVE KEEPER: Store magnet with keeper in place to protect its magnetism. Remove keeper before use.

  • - TOUGH BUT FRAGILE: Like all Alnico magnets, this magnet will break if dropped and become desensitized with magnetic repulsion. Store away from electronics, high heat, and direct sunlight. Store with keeper on.

About Dowling Magnets DO-731015 Magnets Alnico Horseshoe

Red alnico horseshoe magnet (2 inches high) with unmarked poles and a steel keeper. Alnico magnets are made up of Aluminum, Nickel, and Cobalt. They are very durable and ideal for a variety of science investigations. Did you know that a horseshoe magnet is simply a bar magnet that has been bent into a U shape, which positions the poles side by side for added strength? A horseshoe magnet can lift 3 times more than a bar magnet of the same size, weight, and material! Storage: Store horseshoe with keeper in place (to keep the magnetism in). Remove keeper before use. Store all magnets away from electronics, high heat, and direct sunlight. Usage tips: Avoid dropping and banging. Magnets that have been dropped or impacted by force can lose their magnetism--their inside domains can get misaligned. Child safety tested for ages 8+/grades 3+.
