Made specifically for all of your wood fire burning lovers out there! This is designed for the serious firekeepers that love starting a new fire with the previous day's embers from an overnight burn. Our wood burning stove, ash ember separator shovel allows you to quickly sift and separate the good from the bad. How to use: Move your bed of ashes and embers to one side of the fireplace. With a generous scoop, shake over the space you cleared out. We like resting the sifter's rod on the bottom lip of the fireplace towards the front and then shaking it. Keep your ash pile in the front and your ember pile in the rear. Repeat until you have sifted all of those hot juicy embers from the ashes and then you can use a standard scooper to remove the ashes. It is normal for the tiny little embers to get through the sifter, and you will generally be left with a mount of ash with little sparking embers in it. Prepare to be amazed by how much ash you separate from your embers! We made the backing on the sifter extra tall so you can flip the sifter upside down and access ash / embers in that hard-to-reach area of your fireplace just at the front.
