About Dixie Hear Cups Non-Electric Hearing

For thousands of years, people have cupped their ears to amplify sound. For over a century, there has been considerable study and development to improve the efficiency of this type of hearing aid. Unfortunately, despite all efforts, nothing of reasonable size has been developed which can equal the human hand to improve hearing. The design of the Hear Cups is based on a normal drinking cup cut in half. The polypropylene used is ideal for sound gathering. A simple rugged design, they are easy to bring along with you in pocket of purse. No need to worry about a dead battery! Here is a simple test to see if the Hear Cups will help your hearing: Turn on your TV with low volume. Cup both of your hands around your ears. If you find the somewhat louder sound helpful, then you will probably be happy with the hands-free Hear Cups. The hearing help with the cups will not be quite as good, but there will be a clear improvement. Here’s how to put on the Hear Cups. Tie the two ends of the elastic cord together using a simple overhand knot. The knot should be about an inch from the ends of the cord. Place the elastic cord over the top your head, and under your chin. There should be some tension in the cord, but should be comfortable. You can adjust the position of the knot if necessary. You can then slip the cups under the cord and over your ears. The slight tension in the cord will hold the ½ ounce cups securely in place over your ears. Here’s listening to you, kid!
