This ulnar drift hand splint for MP joint alignment can help to minimize the symptoms and slow the progression of one's joint deformity. The ulnar deviation splint supports the knuckles at the base of the fingers, helping to maintain neutral alignment of these metacarpophalangeal (MP) joints. This can help to slow the drifting of the fingers toward the little finger. Ulnar drift is caused by swelling of the joints at the base of one's finger that gradually displaces one's fingers, causing them to drift toward the pinky area (ulna) area of the hand. Typically this is caused by arthritis, specifically rheumatoid arthritis. Made of neoprene this finger brace holds in heat, warming the knuckles and soothing the discomfort of the sore, stiff finger joints. The soft-loop neoprene is also flexible and soft against the skin for maximum comfort. This arthritic finger support secures the upper part of the palm and the fingers below the join at the midpoint of one's fingers. The low-profile splint for ulnar deviation leaves the rest of the hand unrestricted for normal hand movement. This is important for preventing any loss of strength or flexibility in the fingers, hands, wrists, and forearms. The contact closures of this ulnar drift support are easy to apply and adjust as needed. To determine what size you need, measure the distance across your Metacarpophalangeal joints, size S/M fits 2 1/2" - 3 1/2" and size M/L fits 3 1/2" - 4 1/2".
