The Lalvin K1-V1116 yeast strain produces wonderfully aromatic red or white wines with a fruity character. It is particularly suited for expressing the freshness of white grapes, late harvest fruit and ice wines. This yeast creates aromas of fresh fruit that are retained even with long periods of cellaring. At fermentation temperatures below 60°F (15°C), it produces more floral qualities making this yeast ideal for grape varieties with a neutral character. K1-V1116 yeast ferments quickly and is resistant to difficult fermentation conditions including low turbidity, low temperature and low fatty acid content. This resilient yeast is also good for restarting stuck fermentations and has a strong alcohol tolerance. Pack of 10.
