The world mapping project is the map series by leading German publisher for individual style travel guides and language guides REISE KNOW-HOW. Starting in 2001 it has grown to one of the most comprehensive map series with over 190 titles covering destinations from Alaska to the Congo, from New Zealand to Lake Baikal and from Java to the Azores. What is special about world mapping project maps? World mapping project maps are printed on PolyArt, an almost indestructible plastic paper. The maps are drawn by German and Swiss cartographers to meet the highest standards in accuracy AND usability. Their accuracy and the geographic grid allow to use them together with GPS devices. Large scale maps also offer UTM-Grid. Clear modern layout, contour lines and coloured contour layers as well as easy-to-access touristic information mark the appearance of the maps. Coming in rip-off paper covers, the maps are foldable and fit into every pocket. Why haven t I heard about the world mapping project if it s so good? Our main market so far is the German-speaking countries. We are in fact market leader in Germany for Africa, South America and Asia! But our maps can also be found in shops in Spain, Italy, France, Netherlands, USA and elsewhere. We enjoy a fast growing range of customers - including travellers, tour operators, professionals and human aid workers. My customers usually don t speak German. Will that be a problem? The covers (incl. the map key) of most maps already feature information in German, English, French and Spanish, and of the newer maps even now in Russian. Information in the map is usually in English and in German or in the language spoken in the country (e.g. Spanish in the Chile map). Readers with some command of English won t miss any important information. Since 2017 we use the English name as main title on the cover of each map.
