These Kimble Chase KIMAX Erlenmeyer flasks are the choice for general laboratory usage due to their economy and versatility. Their tops are reinforced and tooled with a rounded finish, containing more glass to give them maximum mechanical strength. The bodies are thick-walled, with long tapered outside contours to minimize chipping when struck or rubbed together. All sizes have durable white ceramic enamel scales to indicate approximate volumes at various levels, useful in measuring and mixing solutions where a high degree of accuracy is not necessary. They are designed from ASTM Specification E1404, Type I, Class I requirements. These flasks meet requirements for the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) E438, Type I, Class A, Standard Specification for Glass in Laboratory Apparatus and the glass conforms to USP Type I requirements. They are made from 33 expansion borosilicate glass, which has a low coefficient of thermal expansion and very high resistance to chemical attack.
