QUAKE ALERT Earthquake Detector can provide instant warning by alerting you of the arrival of the "P" wave (sound wave) of an earthquake which arrives first before the slower more dangerous "S" shear wave. After a larger earthquake it is not unusual for people to report that they felt two separate "back to back" earthquakes. Hearing the unique sound of the Quake Alert will allow you to instantly realize that you are experiencing an earthquake and not hearing a loud truck or other loud "non-earthquake" sound. The Quake Alert also comes with an LED emergency light than can be mounted next to the Quake Alert. Often during large earthquakes, power is lost and you could find yourself in the dark. The LED light is an important safety device. The Quake Alert is adjustable and can also be switched off.
