Due to a little batch of Ambico fluid head tripod V-055* tripods with a manufacturing specification that was off slightly. The easy fix is to to file off / sand off a tiny bit of the base of the plate (on the 2 beveled sides, not the straight sides), or alternately do this to the tripod opening where the plate goes. By removing just the slightest amount of plastic, it would fit into the tripod head and work great.
