Summer camp supervisor Cropsy is about to be punished by a couple of boys for his rudeness. A group of teenagers want to scare Cropsy with a skull that is completely covered in worms and has candlelights shining out of its eyes, but the prank goes awry: in a panic, Cropsy knocks the skull over, it lands in his bed and it starts to burn, then Cropsy also comes into contact with fire accelerant, standing in flames from head to toe, Cropsy falls into a river, he barely survives with severe burns. The culprits choose to keep this "secret" to themselves and not talk to anyone about it. But after five years, misfortune returns when Cropsy is released from the hospital and seeks revenge. Armed with pruning shears, he chases the young participants of a summer camp. When wardens Todd, who was once responsible for the disaster, and Michelle organize a canoe trip, they are horrified to find that Cropsy has followed them. After killing some of the teenagers, Michelle and some survivors manage to escape while Todd and Alfred confront the insane killer, kill him and set his body on fire, but his remains were never found...
