She creates this pair of dangle earrings with handcrafted sterling silver filigree motifs in the shape of leaves. Green agate stones dangle above and beneath.About our Artist: "My desire to preserve Mexican silversmith traditions inspired me to showcase filigree techniques in my designs. I have fallen in love with several artistic traditions which I have incorporated into my designs, but the one that has captivated me the most is filigree.One of the reasons that sparked by interest in filigree is that it's an art form in danger of extinction. My inspiration comes from our traditional symbols such as the sun, flowers, the heart, and the moon amongst others. My decision to specialize in jewelry with a Mexican identity wasn't altogether my own. It was the result of my love, admiration and respect for my culture. I was born with it, it comes from my parents. My work includes a dose of nostalgia. I wish to rescue our roots and at the same time go beyond them. I want to reach a sense of abstraction that manifests human symbolism. Arts and handcrafts are live elements of culture."...
