About OSHA Standards For The Construction Industry As Of

This book contains the occupational safety and health standards for the construction industry promulgated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), effective January 1, 2011. It reproduces the full text of regulations contained in the official OSHA government version at Title 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 1926. Also included in this book are Part 1903 regulations governing inspections, citations, and proposed penalties; Part 1904 regulations covering occupational injury and illness recordkeeping and reporting; and Part 1990 carcinogen policy and model standards. Additionally, the entire text of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 has been incorporated, including §5(a) (the "General Duty" clause). To meet our customers' needs, CCH has created a website for the safety professional. As a CCH subscriber, you are entitled to the most current OSHA information available. CCH delivers the information you need, quickly and efficiently, in an easy-to-use format. On the CCH Web site you can stay abreast of updated OSHA regulations as soon as the government publishes them in the Federal Register, allowing you to keep your OSHA Standards Book current longer. So, check the Web site often and stay up to date with the latest developments. NEW TO THIS EDITION: Student Handbook. New to this edition, CCH is pleased to provide the OSHA Training Student Handbook handouts as an added benefit included in our product. Used in OSHA's 10- and 30-hour outreach training courses, the handbook is a great boon to students and trainers alike. The handbook includes the handouts provided by OSHA course instructors, such as the weekly fatality/catastrophe report, the OSHA poster, the OSHA 300 log, navigating the OSHA website, how to read OSHA standards, and how to file an OSHA complaint, among others. Crane and Derricks in Construction regulations fully incorporated into this edition. The final OSHA crane and derricks regulations have been fully incorporated into the respective standards in this edition. Designed to protect employees from construction hazards associated with the use of crane and derrick hoisting equipment, the final rules address the key hazards associated with cranes and derricks on construction worksites, including collapse and overturn, and the four main causes of worker death and injury: electrocution, crushing by parts of the equipment, being struck-by the equipment/load, and falls. The rules also set requirements for ground conditions and crane operator assessment. OSHA published the final regulations in the Federal Register on August 9, 2010, at 75 FR 47905, with a November 8, 2010, effective date. 1910.12 Construction Work 1910.19 Special Provisions for Air Contaminants 1910.132 General Requirements (Personal Protective Equipment) 1910.136 Occupational Foot Protection 1910.137 Electrical Protective Devices 1910.138 Hand protection 1910.146 Permit-required confined spaces 1910.147 Lockout/Tagout (plus 1910.147A-Appendix) 1910.178 Powered Industrial Trucks Expanded Coverage 1910.332 Training Electrical 1910.333 Selection and Use of Work Practices 1910.335 Safeguards for Personal Protection 1910.1030 Bloodborne Pathogens.
