About FirstVoice Talking Emergency Instruction Device

The First Voice Emergency Instruction Device (EID) is an interactive talking device that provides instructions on the identification of injuries or illness and on the delivery of first aid or cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). This interactive talking device is commonly used to help provide basic medical treatment until the illness or injury is resolved or until full medical treatment is available, or as a tool for training in first aid and CPR skills. This interactive talking device delivers automated voice prompts in English or in Spanish to allow users to focus on the delivery of first aid or CPR while listening to the instructions. The embedded liquid crystal display (LCD) screen on this device delivers visual instructions in English or in Spanish for use in noisy environments or for use by users who are deaf or hard of hearing. This device has a touchpad with yes/no answer buttons and color-coded injury buttons that correspond to color-coded items in select First Voice first responder kits (sold separately) to facilitate the identification of supplies needed for treatment. The injury buttons also display icons to facilitate identification of injury or illness. This interactive talking device uses protocols that comply with Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC) standards and with international First Aid standards that are followed by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council, and other major training organizations. The protocols are stored electronically on a removable data card to facilitate upgrades (sold separately). This device has an Ingress Protection 54 (IP54) rating for protection from dust and water spray. This interactive talking device uses 3 AA batteries (sold separately) and measures 9 x 11-1/2 x 1-1/4 inches (H x W x D). (H is height, the vertical distance from lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back.)First aid devices are used to help provide basic medical treatment to a sick or injured person until full medical treatment is available, or to provide training on first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) procedures. First aid devices may include medical devices such as automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) that can help diagnose and treat people who are in sudden cardiac arrest, interactive talking devices that can help instruct lay people or first responders on the delivery of basic medical treatment, or training devices that provide feedback to students as they practice first aid skills.
