Our Country Estate apple cider press produces high juice yields from your apples, grapes, pears and other fruit. Its strong steel handle creates high pressing force with low effort, and it's built strong for years of enjoyable and reliable service. The ratchet head on the Country Estate press travels on a stationary, center-mounted screw. The square base with a heavy duty leg at each of the four corners provides exceptional stability for steady pressing. To load the press, start by lining the pressing basket with a mesh liner bag (not included; available below). Fill the lined basket with pulped apples, grapes or other fruit. Lap the bag top across the top of the fruit, and place the split pressing plate halves on top of the fruit. Place alternating pairs of hardwood blocks over the pressing plate, and spin the ratchet head down onto the blocks. Begin ratcheting downward to press juice from your fruit. When juice flow becomes negligible, the pressing cycle is done. After reversing the two ratchet directional pins on top of the ratchet head, continued ratcheting will move the head back up the shaft. Empty and reload the basket, and you're ready for another batch! The juice pan of the Country Estate press is made of stainless steel, and powder coating of steel parts ensures a lasting finish. The wood parts of the Country Estate apple cider press arrive pre-sealed. For future maintenance, we have an excellent coating product available in our Amazon store. As with any press, to get good juice yield from apples you need to pulp them first. Proper pulping lets you get three to four times as much juice from the apples, compared to pressing the fruit whole. Our Maximizer™ apple grinder and Electric Apple Grinder are both excellent choices. Both grinders are available in our Amazon store.
