This gents Presage, Japan domestic model nicknamed Sky Diving features a 40.5 mm polished stainless steel case with an ice blue sunray dial protected by a box-shaped hardlex crystal, a polished fixed bezel, silver-tone dauphine style hands, and applied indices as hour markers. A shade of dark blue is evident via the stirrer styled seconds hand, pointer date hand, and the tip of the power reserve hand. The power reserve indicator markings run along the indices from the 12 o'clock position up to slightly past the 4 o'clock position. The screw-down exhibition caseback showcases Seiko's caliber 4R57 automatic movement which boasts of a 41-hour power reserve and is water resistant to 50 meters/165 feet. Like all of our watches, this Seiko Presage Automatic Stainless Steel Blue Dial Date Womens Watch is brand new and comes in its original packaging. The story of Seiko began in 1881, when a 21-year-old entrepreneur, Kintaro Hattori, opened a shop selling and repairing watches and clocks in central Tokyo. By 1892, Seikosha was formed (In Japanese, Seiko means exquisite, minute or success and sha means house) which eventually changed to its current Seiko in 1924. Today, after more than 140 years of innovation and many industry firsts including the introduction of the world's first quartz watch in 1969, the Seiko Quartz Astron. Kintaro Hattori’s company together with its many subsidiaries and co-brands including Lorus, Pulsar and Alba is still dedicated to the perfection that the founder always strove to achieve.
