These are studies dealing with the Holy Spirit, as God, with all His attributes of personality and idiosyncrasies of rational behavior on the divine level. We shall observe that the Holy Spirit is neither an abstract dogma nor an impersonal force. The Holy Spirit is not a quality of divine essence. In the words of Lester Sumrall: "I personally feel that these studies are imperative for this generation. One of the greatest needs of the Church today is to understand and possess a personal confrontation with the Holy Spirit, who is known as the Third Person of the Trinity."
