Product Description With all the cleaning approaches available, how do you choose which one is best for your needs? Components manufacturers wonder which will provide a competitive edge. Chemists and engineers worry about the effect of any process modification on a critical component or on the stability of an irreplaceable antique. There is no silver bullet, no magic drop-in solution. The best approach is application specific and often location specific. Handbook for Critical Cleaning provides the tools you need to select the best approach in a rapidly changing world. Rigorous in its treatment of technical issues, broad in scope, and clearly written, the book includes cleaning agent options, cleaning systems/chemical and equipment integration, contamination control, cleanliness standards, analytical testing, process selection, implementation, and maintenance, specific applications areas, and regulatory considerations and outlook. Cleaning, which was once a simple decision among a few cleaning agents and types of equipment, is now recognized as a major factor in process control and product improvement. Choosing the best process involves an understanding of chemistry, engineering, safety and regulatory requirements, as well as a realistic assessment of the strengths and limitations of the local workforce. Handbook for Critical Cleaning shows you not only what processes are available and how to evaluate them, but how to customize cleaning procedures to meet your needs. Review a major effort to go beyond the typical manufacturer's hype in unbiased terms, the good, the bad and the ugly of virtually every contending technology available on the market today a fabulous, 636 page overview of cleaning technology which should be on the desk of anybody who is doing anything in the world of precision cleaning The scope of the book is breathtaking it is fair to say that the Kanegsbergs are probably the only two individuals we know in this industry -- so involved, so unbiased, so well-informed, so trusted by so many vendors -- who could have had the balance and the perspective to assemble this Handbook. If you are cleaning, you MUST get this book. -Mike Jones Micro Care Corporation Great book! I just read chapter 6.2 and it was just what I wanted to know Edward Scott, AMETEK Rotron Had some nasty cleaning issues all this week, and the Handbook has come in handy. Michael Alderete, Lead Mechanical Packaging Engineer, Sensor & Electronic Systems, The Boeing Company I find this Handbook to be a truly comprehensive manual and a valuable aid for both the experienced and beginning practitioner involved this subject matter. The handbook gives the reader an intelligent and in-depth treatment of the various types of cleaning agents and associated cleaning equipment without providing too much of an exhaustive treatise on any material. I particularly liked that I can find information on all of the recommended cleaners and processes in one book. I would refer to this Handbook as a 'cleaner's companion -Diana Dundee, Materials and Process Engineer, Honeywell Canada
