About Legris 7985 56 14 Composite Check Valve, 1/4" NPT

This Parker Legris 7985 series check valve is used inline and is suitable for use in controlling the direction of air flow in pneumatic applications. The composite body is impact-resistant, the nickel-plated brass valve and spring are corrosion-resistant, and the nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) valve seat is resistant to oil and chemicals. The valve body has a female push-to-connect tube fitting on one end and a male National Pipe Taper (NPT) thread on the other. It has a maximum operating pressure of 145 pounds per square inch (psi) and a working temperature range of 32 to 158 degrees F. The valve complies with the Council of the European Union 2006/42/EC directive and the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC standards for safety and complies with Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) regulations. This check valve is suitable for use in pneumatic applications such as in laboratories, food and beverage processing, and paint and printing industries.Check valves have two ports and restrict the flow of fluids and other loose materials through a pipe or passageway to one direction. Flow enters through one port and exits through the other, closing when flow reverses or stops. Two common types of check valves are ball cone valves and swing check valves. A ball cone valve utilizes a spring-loaded ball seated against a cone-shaped interior surface to stop the flow of fluid in a forward direction, and a swing check valve has a movable disc on a hinge to block reverse flow. Check valves are rated by their cracking pressure (the minimum upstream pressure required for the valve to operate), and they are used in various water, gas, air, and steam lines.Parker Hannifin manufactures electromechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic motion technologies and systems for liquid handling, filtration, sealing and shielding, climate control, process control, and aerospace applications. The company, founded in 1918, is headquartered in Cleveland, OH.
