Amish Music Variety samples the type of music used by the Amish in both worship and social singing in German and English. It is an authentic recording of an Amish ensemble, recorded and used with permission of the group. Unison, four-part, some harmonica and zither. German hymns (translated in liner notes) are from the Ausbund hymnal, continuously used since 1564. Some tracks have been used by PBS and NPR as background for documentaries.
