About the Author Ray Bradbury has published some 500 short stories, novels, plays, and poems since his first story appeared in Weird Tales when he was twenty years old. From 1985 to 1992, he adapted his stories for his own half-hour show on cable television's USA Network. The National Book Foundation, in 2000, awarded their Gold Medal to Ray Bradbury for his contribution to American literature. He lives in Los Angeles, California.
