This double-album shows how Chicano rock and roll started and also how the American hits came into the Mexican community with cover versions of Connie Francis hits from Emily Cranz, a TV star and actress. We also hear from Enrique Guzman, Los Locos Del Ritmo, Los Teen Tops, Los Sinners and Los Hooligans, who all came from Mexico and were performing Spanish language versions of US hits such as Heartbreak Hotel, Multiplication and A Big Hunk O' Love. Another crossover is provided by the Carlos Brothers, a doo-wop act from Los Angeles signed by Bob Keane. This fine collection puts Mexican-American music into context and is a terrific collection.
