The HitechSoft Clear is the most versatile diffusion filter for both video and photographic images. The filters allow light to pass through for the most part undisturbed, however a small part of the surface area of the filter has a series of tiny perfect hemispheres which act as planar convex Lenses. This defocuses the light rays producing a slight softening of the image within a very small area of view. The hemispheres are distributed within the filter area in a stochastic pattern, eliminating Moiré fringing in the most challenging conditions such as sun lit water surfaces. The filter can be reversed giving a different range of focal points. Clear Soft filters soften facial images and are Widely used in TV for shooting close-ups of newsreaders, presenters and similar applications. They are also ideal for wedding and portrait photography. Clear Soft filters are available in 3 densities (1-3). This filter is one of a range of 4mm glass filter designed to fit both standard 4 Inch matte boxes for video and film, but also the Hitech Photographic 100mm Modular Holder. The holder is designed to accept the Wider glass filters as well as standard resin filters, allowing for the use of filters which cannot be made in just resin.
