Pauly is a young penguin that knows he is a bird but without wings and the ability to fly; but this doesn't stop him from trying. Throughout the story Pauly encounters other bird species also without the ability of flight. He is able to see that this inability does not hold them back in life, so maybe it doesn't have to hold him back either. Pauly's curiosity sends him on a short adventure to discover what his true abilities are and to answer his one question, "Why Don't I Have Wings?" This is a story to relate to young children who are curious to their place in life and how they can fit in. Pauly shows them that it is possible to embrace their own abilities and discover how special they can truly be.
