Professional rally driver and action sports icon Ken Block (real name Kenneth Paul Block) died in a snowmobile accident on January 2, 2023, not far from his home in the United States. In 2005, he joined the Vermont Sports Car Squad and started competing in national rallying. He competed in his first rally race of the year and ended up placing seventh overall and sixth in the Group N class. At the end of his first full season of rallying, he was recognized as Rally America's Rookie of the Year. Ken Block competed for Hoonigan Racing in the World Rally Championship, the Global RallyCross Championship, the FIA World Rallycross Championship, and Rally America. Ken Block got a lot of attention for his "Gymkhana" series on YouTube, where he did crazy things while driving. Over two million people signed up for his channel after seeing the 10-part series.
