Sage is an essential oil that revitalizes the body as a whole while also helping to restore our individual bodily systems. With an herbaceous and sweet aroma, Sage has been acknowledged through history for its medicinal properties. Its name means Ïto saveÓ in Latin because of its efficacy in helping a range of health issues. Sage helps rejuvenate the reproductive systems by easing cramps, PMS and sweating. Sage can dramatically prevent cellulite from forming and can even support the metabolism. Still included in the British Herbal Pharmacopoeia for mouth, throat and tongue inflammation, Sage was used during the 14th Century to enhance memory, restore health and slow bleeding. Native to the Mediterranean, Sage is a small evergreen tree that is now cultivated worldwide. To extract the essential oil, the leaves are put through a steam distillation process.
