About Bilstein B8 5100 Front And Rear Monotube Shock

Due to their larger tires and a heightened stance, lifted vehicles place extra demands on a shock absorbers damping ability. Bilstein 5100 Series Shock Absorbers are high gas pressure monotube shocks designed specifically for lifted pickups and SUVs. The shocks feature a 46mm digressive piston with self-adjusting deflective disc valving, to increase road handling characteristics both on and off-road. They offer super damping ability that makes them ideal for heavy hauling or occasional off-road use, while maintaining an exceptional street ride. The single tube body allows for rapid heat transfer between the shock oil to the shock body, and then dissipated further to reduce shock fade. The dividing piston also permits the oil to expand as heat builds, preventing aeration (foaming) and viscosity loss. This allows the shock to maintain full damping characteristics as temperatures rise. German engineering combined with US manufacturing ensures optimum performance and longevity for upwards of 100k miles (real customer feedback!). The 5100 series is more compliant in tougher situations and off-road terrain compared to the 4600 series. Factory spec vehicles should use the 4600 series shocks as the valving is more appropriate for daily driven vehicles and pavement environments. Zinc-plated steel body, Triple-C-Technology coating. The front shocks will not fit factory height, fits 2-2.5 inch lift. The rear shocks will fit a 0-2.5 inch lift. Factory shock mounting bolts are reused for installation. Mounting plates sold separately. Also included is a TrendsAuto decal sticker.
