SOUND DEADENING SPRAY: Spectrum liquid sound dampening material is a high heat, water based viscoelastic polymer, formulated and tested by Second Skin to adhere to metal and stop it from vibrating. Stop the vibrations, stop the noise!
CAR SOUND DEADENING & INSULATION: Used to dampen vibrations and stop thermal transfer on metal surfaces in all types of vehicles (cars, boats, trucks). Spectrum also works well on metal warehouse carts, sub-woofer boxes, and HVAC ducts. Spectrum works by stopping vibrations. It will NOT block or absorb airborne sound waves.
ADVANTAGES OF LIQUID SPRAY: Spray Spectrum into hard to reach places that sound deadening mats have trouble, such as the undercarriage of the car and the wheel wells. Spectrum is temperature rated to 400 F, so you can even use it on the firewall!
PAINT OR SPRAY ON SOUND DEADENING: Applied with a paint brush/roller or spray gun and air compressor. We recommend applying two layers of Spectrum Liquid Deadener to a total thickness of 2-3mm (thicker than a quarter). At 2mm thick, 1 gallon covers 20 SF. Max thickness: 5mm
PROUDLY MADE IN THE USA
Spectrum is a USA made, high heat, water based viscoelastic polymer. It was specifically formulated by Second Skin to adhere to and reduce vibrations in metal while also reducing thermal transfer. Spectrum stops vibrations in a similar manner to holding a wind chime or bell. Once the vibrations stop, the noise stops. Each gallon of Spectrum will cover 20 sq ft at the recommended 2 coats (2 mm total thickness). Layers should be applied at 1 mm thickness 30-60 minutes apart. If Spectrum runs, you are applying it too thick. Once the final coat has been added, allow 24 hours before the next layer of product or upholstery is installed. Spectrum may be painted or covered with a bed liner after 10 days. Do not freeze Spectrum! If it does freeze, do not mix, shake, or move until it has completely thawed Do not apply to plastic or fiberglass without the proper primer. If applying to a high gloss wax coat, sand it down and apply a primer Spectrum is not a bedliner. Even after curing, it can be damaged by heavy impact Shelf life of 1 year when stored at room temperature Spectrum is easy to clean up with water within 30 minutes A minimum of 1mm is required to achieve sound deadening results
