About Giesen Dealcoholized Riesling, Grapes From

Giesen is a New Zealand based winery run by the three Giesen brothers with a commitment to sustainability, discovery, and time spent amongst loved ones. Meet their best-selling Riesling’s non-alcoholic cousin. Grapes are sourced from vineyards in Marlborough and Waipara, chosen for the texture, citrus flavor, and floral aromatics offered by the regions. Pitched yeast is added to amplify tropical flavors and notes of spice, and fermentation is halted early to reserve natural sugars for an off-dry finish . A gentle spinning process dealcoholizes the finished wine before the Giesen’s masterfully blend in delicate aromatics and unfermented grape juice to create this beautifully aromatic bottling. With the same structure, citrus flavor, and floral aromatics as the original, this non-alcoholic expression is hardly distinguishable from the original wine. Given the rest, we’d say the lower calorie and sugar content is just an added bonus.
