Pit Posse's clutch spring compressor tool is the perfect tool for installing or releasing plates and replacing your clutch. To get your clutch plates out you must get the inner spring compressed, and the snap rings taken out It's important to follow the instructions since there's a compressed spring in the clutch and you need to gradually work your way to release the pressure. Note: For 91-05 XL applications, please use the included compressor nut, all other Models will not need this part. Please refer to service manual for removal of the outer cover. Instructions: 1. Loosen jam nut and remove adjusting screw and adjuster nut 2. Hold cup side of tool up against the clutch diaphragm 3. Slip bolt through the hole in the top of the tool with nut almost to the end of the hex head, with a washer in front of the nut. PLEASE APPLY OIL TO THREADS AND WASHER 4. Thread bolt into the hole in the release plate at least 5 turns 5. While holding bolt from turning, turn the nut with washer against the tool. Compress the diaphragm spring inward enough to remove the retaining ring 6. Remove retaining ring 7. Slowly remove tool with pressure plate attached. DO NOT LOOSEN SPRING COMPRESSOR TOOL IF YOU ARE NOT REPLACING THE PRESSURE PLATE. 8. Clutch can now be removed Note: For 91-05 XL applications, please use the included compressor nut 1. Remove O-ring from adapter tool. 2. Install adapter tool with washer through the hole in the top of the clutch spring compressor. 3. Install O-ring on the underside of the clutch spring compressor. 4. The tool is now ready for use!
