This is the original Imperial Horseshoe first sold in 1968. It was called the Rolls Royce of horseshoes and in that year, the Men’s World Horseshoe Champion set the all-time World Tournament record for highest ringer percentage, averaging 88.2% for thirty-five 50-point games (2,613 ringers out of 2,964 shoes pitched) against the toughest players of all time! This horseshoe is time tested and has been and still is pitched by many champions of the sport for over fifty years and counting. Imperial is a traditional horseshoe with fairly wide, thin blades that make it great for any turn. It is famous for its huge tips, big round hooks, and very sharp points that seem to measure for ringers better than anything else! It features a very low, smoothly contoured rear cleat that makes it a favorite among “cleats down” flip pitchers. Every Thoroughbred Horseshoe can take a serious beating… it’s part of the plan from the beginning, as we know our customers well! So, they should all last quite a while even with heavy pro-level usage… hence the two-year warranty. But if used only occasionally, a set of Thoroughbreds may last a lifetime.
