DEMONSTRATE ELECTROLYSIS || Brownlee's Electrolysis Apparatus is used to demonstrate that electrically conductive liquids can be decomposed and resolved into their constituent elements by means of a unidirectional electric current. The gaseous components formed by this method can be trapped, and their relative volumes estimated.
APPLICATIONS || Although designed primarily to electrolyze water, this apparatus can be used with many other aqueous solutions. For examples solutions of ammonia, hydrochloric or nitric acids, and sodium chloride. Other solutions, such as those of antimony trichloride, copper sulfate, and silver nitrate, can be used to demonstrate the phenomenon of electroplating with the help of two clips.
POWER SUPPLY || Rests on a battery jar and uses a 6V battery or 10V DC power supply.
IMPORTANT || Power supply and battery jar are not included. Two inverted test tubes are included
MAINTENANCE || The Brownlee's Electrolysis Apparatus needs no special maintenance. However, you should clean the electrodes after the apparatus has been used for electroplating.

Two inverted test tubes are included Brownlee Water Electrolysis Apparatus (1) Apparatus, (2) Corks, (2) Inverted Test Tubes Simple and economical type of electrolysis apparatus. Platinum electrodes are attached to insulated connecting rods which are attached to binding posts mounted on a non-conducting support. The support rests across the top of a battery jar (not included) and has two clips that each hold an inverted test tube. Operates on 6V battery or 10V DC power supply. Jar not included*
