Chosen Foods Spanish Romesco Simmer Sauce was inspired by a recipe that arose in the northeast corner of Spain, in the region of Catalonia. Our version begins with a base of 100% avocado oil and incorporates fire roasted red pepper and tomato, onion, almonds, red wine vinegar, garlic, lemon juice and sea salt. While romesco is traditionally eaten as a dip for grilled onions, but we've adapted the recipe into a delicious and versatile simmer sauce. Choose your favorite combination of veggies, beans, seafood, or tofu and simmer with Spanish Romesco Simmer Sauce for 20 minutes. Then finish the dish with extra sauce drizzled on top, mixed into rice or quinoa, or spread onto flatbread.
