The water heater owner must manually operate the valve at least once a year to ensure the waterway is clear. 2. Please check to see that the dis-charge line is securely attached and properly in-stalled before lifting the lever, prevent injury or property damage. 2. Avoid contact with the hot water dis-charged during the test to prevent personal injury. 3. At least every three years the valve shall be inspected by a licensed plumbing contractor or qualified service technician and replaced as necessary. 4. If discharge occurs during normal operation CALL A PLUMBER IMMEDIATELY. Discharge indicates an unsafe temperature or pressure Condition or a problem with this valve.
