The OEM TOOLS Harmonic Balancer Puller is designed for use with Model GM 2000, Generation II Cadillac (1988 - newer), Chevrolet Trucks (2003 - newer), Chrysler (1990), Ford (1995 - newer), and Mitsubishi Eclipse (1995) vehicles. The harmonic damper puller is designed to remove the harmonic balancer from the engine crankshaft. This crankshaft pulley tool is capable of removing harmonic balancer damper pulleys in tight engine compartments without removing the radiator. Our crankshaft pulley removal tool includes the 3-jaw puller, 4 different lengths of forcing adapter rods, and a forcing screw with a 3/8 inch square drive for ratchet use and a 3/4 inch hex for wrench or socket use. This harmonic balance puller includes unique tensioned jaws for easy tool placement in tight quarters--a feature not offered by other brands. Special jaws engage the spokes of pressed-on harmonic balancers that do not have threaded holes, holding the legs in place when positioning the harmonic puller and making it easier to remove the crankshaft balancer. This harmonic puller kit also comes with a heavy-duty blow-molded carrying case, making it easy to transport our harmonic balancer kit from job to job. To use 1. Lubricate and thread the pressure screw into the puller tool. 2. Using a ratchet remove harmonic balancer’s retainer bolt. 3 Select the appropriate adapter rod. 4. Stick the adapter rod into the center of the harmonic balancer and then put the hollow end of the pressure screw over the adapter rod. 5. Insert the jaws through the spoked areas so they’re gripping the center hub. 6. Hand tighten the pressure screw until it makes contact with the adapter rod. 7. Use a ratchet to turn the pressure screw until the harmonic balancer is pulled.
