973-452 Blower Motor Resistor: Control the speed of the vehicle blower motor. Problem: AC not blowing air, blower motor stuck on one speed, blower motor doesn't work on high or low setting, and blower works when turned off are the common symptoms of a failed blower motor resistor. Defective or inoperative BMR will result in poor cabin cooling or heating. It may also cause defrosting or insufficient de-icing of the windshield, reducing driver visibility. When the blower motor is overloaded or the blades are not smooth, it will generate a large current and cause the resistor(BMR) to burn out.
