True Composites Polyester Fiberglass Laminating Resinis perfect for low-cost repairs & new construction parts. This resin must be catalyzed with MEKP (Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide) to properly cure. This kit includes Polyester Resin with 1708 Biaxial Cloth. Fiberglass Biaxial Cloth is a #1708 E-glass Biaxial (+/-45 degree) Cloth with 3/4 oz mat backing held together by light stitching. What is 1708 Fiberglass? “1708” indicates the weight of each layer. For example, the +/- 45 biaxial weave cloth is 17 oz. per square yard, & the mat backing is 8 oz. per square yard, so the total weight is 25 oz. per square yard. Flat non-crimped fiber sheet yield reduced print-thru & higher stiffness than woven fabric Ideal for repairs, tabbing, & reinforcing. Our general purpose polyester resin is great for a wide variety of applications including, hand layup by brush or roller, spray on applications, marine, transportation, auto body, aerospace, general purpose laminating, FRP parts, boat, roving waterproof sealant for floor. This resin is compatible with all types of fiberglass & coring materials. Our resin’s chemical reaction to surfaces can smell foul just like other brands, but once it has cured, no odor can be detected. Best to keep your DIY project outdoors for a day or two, then savor the exceptional quality later on once it has dried out. Still not convinced?
