About McGill PCF3 TRAKROL Bearing, Stud

This McGill PCF series Trakrol steel stud-type cam follower bearing with rubber lip seals supports combined radial and thrust loads in cam- and track-type applications. This cam follower has a hardened, thick-walled outer ring that resists wear and helps minimize deformation under heavy radial and shock loads. It has a stud-type design for through-hole or threaded mounting, and inch threads manufactured to class 2 tolerances on the end of the stud. The bearing’s cylindrical outer surface provides maximum contact with the track. This cam follower is made of bearing steel treated with black oxide for corrosion protection and has a ductile inner ring that helps absorb shock loads. Rubber lip seals on both sides of the bearing retain polyurea-thickened grease applied at manufacture and help protect against contaminants. A metal plug seal on the end face further protects the seal from abrasive debris in contaminated environments and resists weld spatter and washout. PCF-series cam followers with an outer diameter size smaller than three inches consist of a precision ball bearing insert with an additional seal (Nyaplate), and sizes larger than three inches consist of a tapered roller bearing insert. Both types of roller bearings support high speeds and contain a large internal grease reservoir that helps reduce the need to relubricate the bearing. The operating temperatures range from -35 to +110 degrees C. This Trackrol bearing is suitable for use in a broad range of applications including process transfer lines, ram support rollers, conveyors, machine tools, and indexing equipment, among others. Track runner bearings, also called track roller bearings, are rolling element bearings with a thick-walled outer ring that rotates directly on cam and track surfaces. The thick outer ring helps minimize deformation under load stress and enables the bearing to handle heavy rolling and shock loads. Track runner bearings have either a stud-type or yoke-type mounting design. Stud-type track rollers, such as cam followers, have a built-in threaded rod, instead of an inner ring, for either threaded mounting or through-hole mounting onto machine components. Through-hole mounting uses a hexagonal nut on the threaded end to secure the bearing into place. Yoke-type track rollers, such as roller followers, are mounted in a yoke-style housing on a press-fitted or push-fitted shaft or pin. Available in a variety of materials and mounting configurations, track runner bearings are used in a broad range of cam-controlled and linear motion applications including agricultural machinery, conveying equipment, cam drives, material handling equipment, robotics, and automotive equipment, among others. McGill manufactures bearings for aerospace and industrial applications. The company, founded in 1905, is headquartered in Florence, KY, and meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001:2008 and Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) aerospace standard AS9100 for quality assurance.
