Measures 3/4" width by 18" length. From the Manufacturer The 3M™ Cloth Belt 777F features a blend of 3M™ Ceramic Abrasive Grain and aluminum oxide for increased durability and cutting efficiency and is suitable for moderate stock removal to finishing operations. The heavy, water-resistant YF-weight cloth backing supports high-pressure applications, works well on heat-sensitive metals, and can be used in wet or dry applications. To protect heat sensitive alloys like stainless steel, nickel alloys and cobalt alloys, a grinding aid on the 777F cloth belt reduces running temperatures, and the abrasive is bonded to the backing with resin to maintain durability under high heat and pressure. This belt is recommended for use on stainless steel or other exotic metal alloys for dimensioning parts, deburring, blending, and finishing castings and forgings. 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain is a ceramic mineral designed using a proprietary process to enhance toughness and hardness of the grain. For increased performance, 777F products feature aluminum oxide blended with 3M ceramic grain for a harder, longer-lasting abrasive. Perfect for moderate to heavy stock removal, ceramic abrasives are engineered to cut fast and handle intense heat and stress applications. Ceramic/aluminum oxide blend surpasses aluminum oxide abrasives in cut-rate and durability and makes Cloth Belt 777F an excellent choice for moderate stock removal and surface preparation. Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of belt sanding tools for many different metalworking applications. 3M offers a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are designed for wide belt sanders for flat finishing—to smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts are generally used on a backstand for weld removal or on a feed -thru style flat finisher for imparting a finish on sheets or coils. Narrow belts can be used on backstands for grinding and finishing, or on file tools for finishing in right angle corners. For more than a century, 3M has applied innovation and technology to improving our customers’ lives and supporting their business goals. Today the company, from its headquarters in St. Paul, Minnesota, serves industrial and commercial customers and consumers in nearly 200 countries. Abrasive Systems products, including a complete line of coated abrasives, microfinishing and microreplicated abrasives, and hardware accessories, provide the finishing touch for almost any surface modification application. The 3M brand, across thousands of products, represents consistency, superior quality, and value.
