About Tefen Nylon 6/6 Pipe Fitting, Hex
The Tefen hex plug pipe fitting is made of gray nylon 6-6 and has a male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threaded connection. This hex plug fitting inserts into a pipe or fitting to close and terminate its end and has a hexagonal head for an increased bearing surface when adjusting the fitting with a wrench. It has male NPT threads for connecting to a female threaded pipe, creating a tighter seal than straight threads. This fitting is made of nylon 6-6 for high strength and flexibility, resistance to chemicals and abrasion, and a higher melting temperature than Nylon 6. The working pressure for this fitting is up to 200 pounds per square inch (psi), or 14 bar. This fitting meetings National Sanitation Foundation (NSF)/American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard 61 for use with drinking (potable) water.
