Very low contamination of melts, similar to platinum. Will not contribute silicon dioxide, carbon or others. Only the most minuscale amount of Al2O3 and TiO2.
About Platinum-Alternative Crucible For Lab 2800F 1538C
Hardened surface, eases release of melted materials, & increases longevity. Melting point of crucible is about 3000°F, but please keep below 2800°F. Many metals, glasses, salts, and other materials can be melted in this crucible. Like ceramic crucibles, its lifetime is used up due to oxidation and plasma contact. This crucible can tolerate thermal shock and differences, and also resists attack by various salts and fluxes.
