Clamp-on saddle for adding a 90-degree branch to a pipe
Female NPT outlet with stainless steel reinforcement for connecting to pipes or fittings with male NPT threaded ends
CPVC for strength and resistance to chemicals and corrosion, and a Viton seal for use with a variety of chemicals and fuels
Maximum pressure rating of 235, 200, or 150 psi
Zinc-plated steel hardware included for secure mounting to a pipe
This Spears CPVC clamp-on saddle has a female NPT threaded outlet for connecting to pipes or fittings with male NPT threaded ends, and is suitable for adding a 90-degree branch to a pipe. The stainless steel reinforcement increases the life of the outlet, and the National Pipe Taper (NPT) threads create a tighter seal than straight threads. The saddle is made of medium gray CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) for chemical and corrosion resistance, high strength, and better resistance to high temperatures and pressures than PVC (polyvinyl chloride). It has a Viton (FKM, fluoroelastomer) seal for resistance to oils, fuels, chemicals, many solvents, weathering, and extreme temperatures, and is compatible with all types of pipe with an Iron Pipe Size (IPS) outside diameter (OD). The saddle has a maximum pressure rating of 235 pounds per square inch (psi) at up to 4" IPS, 200 psi at 6" IPS, and 150 psi at 8 to 12" IPS. It comes with zinc-plated steel hardware for secure mounting to a pipe. This CPVC clamp-on saddle is suitable for adding a 90-degree branch to pipes for hot and cold water pressure distribution systems in residential and commercial applications. Pipe fittings are components used for connecting, terminating, controlling flow, and changing the direction of piping in many different industries. When purchasing pipe fittings, consider the application, as this will affect material type, shape, size and required durability. Fittings are available threaded or unthreaded, in many shapes, styles, sizes, and schedules (pipe wall thickness). Spears Manufacturing produces thermoplastic fittings and valves for fluid, drain, waste, and vent systems. The company, founded in 1969 and headquartered in Sylmar, CA, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001.
