About NIBCO U4551H 1 HD SOC FLG PVC 80 Dark Grey, 1 Inch
The NIBCO 4551-H schedule 80 flange pipe fitting is made of PVC and has socket connections. This flange fitting joins two pipes or valves in a piping system or attaches a pipe to a flat surface or flange. It has female socket openings for sliding over the ends of male pipes. The socket end connects to pipes with a smooth bore for enhanced flow. This schedule 80 (thick wall) fitting is made of (Chemtrol) PVC for corrosion resistance, high strength, and less weight than fittings made from metal. It is compatible with schedule 80 PVC pipes and fittings, and is suitable for chemical processing, industrial plating, chilled water distribution, deionized water lines, and chemical drainage and wastewater treatment systems. PVC can be connected to other materials such as steel, copper, or cast iron using transition fittings. This fitting provides superior flow to metal because of its smooth interior finish, which reduces friction and inhibits buildup of materials. This fitting meets American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) D1784 Class 12454-B specifications for quality assurance.
